Currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I am double majoring in History and Journalism, and obtaining a certificate in Public Policy. I will graduate in May 2021 and plan on pursuing a career in journalism or communications. I am interested in topics related to social justice, politics, art and culture.
2019 - 2021- Daily Cardinal
I wrote for the Daily Cardinal, a student run newspaper for three years and edited the Arts column from 2019 - 2020. In this role I pitched and wrote articles on a variety of topics that were relevant to the UW - Madison area. In the position as editor I was tasked with managing a team of writers. I was responsible for editing and publishing their work, as well as contacting local venues and arranging press passes for writers and photographers.
2020-2021 - Communications intern for the Sierra Leone Foundation for New Democracy
In this role I was tasked with researching and reporting on issues related to indigenous rights and social justice. I was responsible for the publication of the weekly newsletter and performed occasional administrative tasks such as grant writing.
2019 - 2020 - Intern for Governor Tony Evers
I worked in the office of Constituent services, where I was responsible for communicating with constituents about issues that regarded the Office of the Governor.
Summer 2020 - writer for MirahMirah magazine
I worked as an intern for a fashion and beauty publication. I pitched and wrote an article everyday for the online magazine, and was constantly monitoring the fashion and beauty beat.
